For Immediate Release
Nov. 13, 2020
After careful consideration, the NFLPA has decided to cancel the 2021 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. In making this decision, we consulted with our personnel, medical, game operations and internal staff while doing our due diligence to review all potential options within the parameters of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Ultimately, we determined that we would be unable to provide our participants with the world-class, week-long experience that is the hallmark of our game.
This marks our 10th year providing college seniors with the opportunity to display their talents in front of NFL personnel while learning about the NFLPA’s many available resources within the business of football. Although we will not hold our typical showcase, we are confident that our alternative approach – an innovative, virtual experience intended to educate, equip and empower participants — will still allow us to strategically engage with this year’s class of prospects as well as our stakeholders, broadcast partners and NFL club personnel while building toward a bigger, better experience for 2022 and beyond.
Formal invitations will be sent out in the coming weeks for select, eligible players to participate in the 2021 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl experience. We look forward to having them become a part of our game’s 10-year history.
